Stremio, the new free alternative to PopCorn Time and Netflix

A new software is coming to take the post of troubled PopCorn Time and generate some concern Netflix. know the Stremio.

Based on open source technology: Stremio the alternative to PopCorn Time

A new software emerged so you can watch movies, series and even channels on YouTube called Stremio, it is a fully open source platform that works similar to the PopCorn Time with the difference also be P2P (peer to peer) which is the famous mechanism used in software like Ares and eMule.

Interestingly, the software and contains the subtitled material also has many movies and dubbed series, which is a very positive point for those who do not like reading subtitles.

To use Stremio you'll need to create an account or log in using Facebook, this process is not delayed anything to get you to download the software directly from the official website: strem.io

For those under the Linux Stremio, just give-click the executable "Stremio-runtime" in Ubuntu it creates an icon in the indicator area, close to the calendar on the top bar, click it and click "show" and ready, start using.

I realized that some series, even if listed in the catalog, could not load, perhaps because it uses P2P also in some cases.

More features

Besides the already mentioned features, the Stremio can also import files from your hard drive to function as a single player (including the documentation they say they use as a basis for codecs and plugins VLC), it is also capable of streaming to chromecast and the AppleTV.

The Stremio is also able to play TV channels support plugins and add-ons like Kodi, formerly known as XBMC is a very complete software, no doubt.
